Opening ahead of schedule and under budget on Saturday, May 1, Interstate MAX Yellow Line will serve North and Northeast Portland between downtown and the Expo Center, with 10 new stations along Interstate Avenue.

On opening day, we invite you to "celebrate Interstate" and explore each of the new stations along the MAX line, where you'll enjoy great food, music, dancing, artwork, activities for kids and lots more. So join your friends and neighbors, and discover the Avenue!

You can ride MAX Yellow Line for free on Saturday, May 1, and Sunday, May 2, between downtown and the Expo Center.

Interstate/Rose Quarter Station
Grand Opening Ceremony, 10-11 a.m.

TriMet General Manager Fred Hansen, members of Oregon's congressional delegation, and project partners City of Portland, Portland Development Commission and Metro will kick off the day's festivities here at 10 a.m.

A community parade will escort the inaugural Yellow Line train as it pulls into the Interstate/Rose Quarter Station. Don't forget to wear yellow!
